
They also handle all fire safety complaints and concerns, Monday – Friday 08:00am until 4:00pm Fire Prevention can be reached by calling 73. Fire Prevention did over 6,000 inspections in 2002 along with 1,800 smoke detector inspections. The Fire Prevention Bureau with a personnel consists of 1 Fire Official and 5 Fire Inspectors which are responsible for 1000 Life Hazard Use occupancies.

The Division responded to calls for service in 2022 including 70 structure fires, 62 Rescues, 280 vehicle accidents and 1152 First responder medical calls. The Volunteer Fire Companies respond from 2 Fire Stations. Career personnel are assigned to 6 Fire Stations throughout the Township with 32 on duty personnel 24 hours / 365 days a year, utilizing 7 Fire Pumpers, 2 Aerial Trucks, and 2 Rescue Trucks and support vehicles.

The Edison Division of Fire is a combination Fire Department with a total complement of 145 Career and 40 Volunteer Firefighters and Officers.
